Before there was a team, a business plan, or even a job site - there was Alicia and Robert Deck. They met while attending TCU: she was on the equestrian team, he was on the football team during some of the school's most exciting and successful seasons, including a Rose Bowl championship. Their connection grew stronger when they worked together at Old Rip’s, a beloved, Fort Worth Tex-Mex staple.

After graduation, they moved to Dallas - Alicia jumping into a global sales career, Robert diving into the construction world. He started at a remodel company focusing on equipment rentals and went on to work for a commercial renovation firm, gaining hands-on experience managing large-scale projects. When the couple found out they were expecting their first child, they made the decision to move back to Fort Worth.

Next, Robert joined a firm focused on tenant finish-outs, and after the company’s partners went separate ways, he was recruited by one of his mentors in the industry to work for his own firm, Ron Carter Construction. There, Robert spent seven years honing his craft on high-end residential remodels and developing the leadership skills that would ultimately inspire him to build something of his own.

In 2020, the two young parents sat down at their kitchen table and, with the encouragement of Robert’s mentor, Ron, they made a decision that was decades in the making. It was time to build something of their own. 

Deck Construction Group started with small renovations, late-night project planning, and word-of-mouth referrals. But, word spread fast. Their attention to detail and commitment to quality quickly set them apart from other groups in DFW.

Today, they specialize in custom homes and thoughtful renovations that prioritize craftsmanship, transparency, and a personal touch across the DFW metroplex, with a special focus on west Fort Worth.
